Activism is speaking your mind in a room full of people who disagree with you.
Activism is participating in the running of your city, state and country and demanding accountability from your elected and appointed representatives.
Activism is avoiding the funding of your own genocide.

Black Friday... Saturday... Sunday...

I started this page in time for Black Friday 2014, hoping that people would support Black owned businesses that respect and invest in Black communities, so that Black Friday would not continue to become Broke Friday. Our purchases are votes that determine which businesses survive in our communities; how we are treated when we shop; and who has the ability to employ us, to support our schools and charities, to increase our political, social, and economic power and our self esteem.  I hope that all people who believe in justice and equality will support Black businesses. Please feel free to copy and share my lists freely.  Yes.  Sometimes we have to go a little further and pay a little more to support Black businesses.  It's  worth it.  If you receive less than excellent service from these or any businesses that you support, support them further by letting them know and respectfully suggesting ways for them to improve... and then give them a chance to do so.
